Mother's Day 2010

Monday, May 10, 2010

I have to say I had a great mother's day yesterday. Melissa and Paul went out Saturday morning to run some errands and when they came back they had purple tulips for me. Melissa was so proud to give them to me. She told me that she had more gifts for me, but I had to wait till Mother's Day. So Sunday morning came and I could hear Melissa and Paul doing something in the living room and I was told I could not come in. They were wrapping my gift. Melissa had picked out this very cute picture frame from Hallmark. It came with stickers so she could decorate it herself, it also had a record button on it. I can push the play button and her Melissa say " I love you Mommy". She was very proud of the gift. It was so sweet to see her get involved in the gift giving. Then after that Paul and Melissa wanted to take me out to eat for breakfast so off we went to IHop. It was so good and it was nice not to have to cook or clean that morning.

I hope all the moms reading this had a great Mother's Day.

Merry Christmas!

Thursday, December 24, 2009

Today is Christmas Eve and it looks like we might get some snow today! This year has been good year for our family. We are so blessed for all the good things God has done for us. I hope today and tomorrow you will look back on your year and I know for some it hasn't been the best of years. Just know that we are here for you and praying.

This Christmas Season has been a great one for Melissa. She is older (2 1/2) and she is loving everything about Christmas. Today we are going to make a Birthday Cake for Jesus and make cookies for Santa. We hope we get to play out in the snow and then head to our Church Christmas Eve service. Then come home and get ready for Santa to come. Tomorrow we don't have much planned just staying home and enjoy watching Melissa open up her gifts and playing with all the fun things. We might go over to our friends later on. I just like being home with my little family.

I hope you enjoy the video from our family to yours. Melissa has a big roll in this video!

Merry Christmas,

Love,
Paul, Traci and Melissa

A fun fall day at the Dallas Arboretum

Last Wednesday Melissa and I headed out to the Dallas Arboretum to see the pretty fall flowers and all the pumpkins. We both had a great time just walking around looking at all the pretty flowers.

Our Getaway

Monday, August 10, 2009

I have been so busy since this trip, but I thought I should post about our first getway since Melissa was born. Paul and I had our first a long weekend getaway in over two years. The last vacation we had just the two of us was when I was six months pregnat with Melissa. Since then we have had family vacations.

This was a must needed trip. It was so good just to spend one on one time with each other and remember what it was like when it was just the two of us. Oh don't get me wrong, I thought about Melissa all the time, but I knew she was in good hands. Melissa stay home and her DD came and took care of her. Paul had been working in Calfronia for three weeks and I got to join him at the end of the 2nd week. I packed my bags and flew to Santa Anna, Calfroina. I didn't know what to since I was flying by myslef. I didn't have to worry about anyone but myself. Oh it was a weird feeling. Paul was staying in Laguna Hills and we spent most of the time out on the beach. We love the beach and the sun! Laguna Beach is a nice place to visit. It has a lot of history to it. I was reading the history about Laguna Beach and it is the home of the artist. Laguna Beach has an Art Festaval from June-September. I hadn't every seen many artist before. One of my favorite artist Wayland has his on Gallery at Laguna Beach. I was first was introudced to Wayland's art work on my honeymoon in Maui Hawaii. I don't have a pieace of his work, but when I get a house and have the money I'm buying something from him.

Our weekend started out on Thursday, July 30, 2009. Paul had to work that day and by the time I flew in and got settled in at the hotel it was getting close to dinner time. So off we went to Laguna Beach area. We ate a place call Las Brisas it was good. On Friday Paul had to work so I had a day to myself. What to do, I haven't been by myself in two years! I slept in and headed down to the pool. I needed to start reading my stuff for my new job. That passed the time and then it was lunch time. Paul had a short lunch break so we headed to In-N-Out Burger. This is a must when you go to California. After lunch we I took Paul back to work and I had the rent car to do what ever. I did some shopping and just enjoyed the beautiful Calfornia weather. That evening we headed back to the beach area and had a good dinner at El Callejon. After dinner we walked around and did some window shopping. We did buy Melissa and I something. We got matching ankel braclets and toe rings at Shelby's. They had all kinds of neat items. Melissa is getting in to jewelry and I thought it would be fun for us to be matching.
Saturday rolled around and we headed to the beach. Our friends told us of a nice beach to try out. Laguna beach is so busy, if you just go either a little south or a little north the beaches aren't so bad. We spent the day at Treasure Island Beach. I hadn't been in the pacific water but I heard it was cold. Yes, it was cold but it didn't take long to get use to it. The ocean was ruff that day so the waves where strong. I didn't spend a lot of time in the water that day. I enjoyed laying out on the beach sleeping , reading and just doing a lot of thinking. After the long day at the beach we head for a nice dinner to Nick's the have good fish and chips. One of Paul's co-workers told us about a great place to get good milk shakes. We took a little drive to Newport beach and found the Shake Shack. I think this place was at one time family owned and had a lot more choice to choose from. Even Rachel Ray had this on her $40 a day show. We found out it was bought out to Ruby's Diner. I thought the shackes were good. The view from Crystal Cove was beautiful. Sunday was our last day of vaction. We got up that moring and head back to Newport Beach and took a Auto Ferry to Balboa Island. Come to find out we could have drove to this Island also. It only cost us $3.00 to take the Ferry. One thing about this Island is parking. I don't know what it's like on the week days, but the weekend its impossible to find a parking spot. Every parking spot has a meter so you have to pay and you only have 6 hours to park in that spot. I like the beach, the waves where bigger than Treasure Island Beach, but not as strong. I don't know if that makes since. Paul and I had fun playing in the waves and we got lots of sun that day. We finally got to see a sunset. All the other nights the clouds would roll in right before the sunset and we never got our sunset over the ocean until Sunday. Paul and I had a great time and we hope we can do this again in about 6 months. Since Paul travels so much he is always going to neat places.

Our New Family Pictures

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Last Saturday we had our family pictures/Melissa's two year pictures made. We have always gone to a studio to have them made, but a friend told me about Shelley Babbitt http://www.lfayephotography.com/
I love pictures that are taken outside and not with a back drop, but we have never been able to afford a professional photographer before, other than at our wedding. Shelley said she isn't a professional photographer , but loves to take pictures. I thought she did a good job.

You have already seen some of the pictures on the blog, but I thought I would post all of my favorite ones.

My Day

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

My Birthday was a good one. I told Paul it was good because I didn't have to get onto Melissa at all yesterday. She was good for me. It was also a good day. I had lunch with a good friend and then that evening Paul and Melissa had my little birthday party. I had to make my own cake, but that's fine with me. Melissa loved the cool whip on the cake as you will see in the last picture of the video.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes

Happy Birthday To Me (Traci)

Monday, June 29, 2009
Today is my birthday, I just thought I would let you all know about this special day. Well to me it's just another day. Don't get me wrong I still like to get gifts and have all the fun for my birthday. It just seems as I get older I don't do as much for my day.
Here is a picture of me when I was two. The dress I have on was made by my great grandmother Buck. She loved to sew and made my sister and I dresses.
I had Melissa's 2 year pictures made this past weekend and I wanted her to wear the dress also. These are just some of her 2 year pictures. Do you still think she looks like me?

A new job and going to preschool

Monday, May 4, 2009

At the beginning of April, I applied for part time job at our Church preschool. I thought this would be a good thing for Melissa and I. I would get out of the house for two days a week and earn some money. Also Melissa will get to go to the preschool as a student. Last Monday I was offered the job. Melissa and I will be starting school in the fall. I know we both will enjoy it.

Our Christmas 12/25/08

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

I had every intention to post this video over the weekend, but we have been very busy. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great Christmas. This year was so much fun with Melissa. Last year she was only 6 months old and didn't know what was going on. This year Melissa loved everything about Christmas. DD flew in on Tuesday and stayed with us until Friday. Our Christmas Eve was nice, we stayed home and made Santa Cookies. Melissa helped us with that. She loved eating the cookie dough and the icing! That night Paul read us the Christmas story and then it was time for bed, but before bed we had to make sure the cookies and milk where out for Santa.

Christmas morning started early for us (6:30am) Melissa has been having sleeping problems. That's another post coming soon. Melissa wasn't sure at first what was going on, but it didn't take her long to get in to opening up gifts. Santa brought her a Kitchen with play food, two Elmo videos, a toddler Bible and a new blanket. Other gifts she got where lots of books, a new piano, microphone, Basketball goal (from us), a rocking chair and other things. I tell you she is spoiled already!

Paul and I got some neat things also. I got a lot of kitchen items that I asked for. Since I cook at least 3 meals a day I needed some new items. Melissa got me a gift certificate for a Facial! Yeah Melissa you know Mommy needs to take care of herself. Paul got book, movies, lots of Starbucks gift cards.

After Melissa's nap we headed to Paul's sister for Christmas Dinner. Melissa got more gifts at Aunt Maggie's and Uncle Kevin's. She got her 1st tea set, her 1st apron. She got another gift that I need to take back because she already had this toy. It was a special day that Melissa got to spend Christmas with both her grandmothers. All in all we had a wonderful Christmas week spending it with family.

We look forward to a great 2009.

Here is the video, sorry it's long!

Friday, August 15, 2008
Our Bible Study class meet up for our monthly class social. We had a great time at Kart-Trax in Lewisville . We left Melissa at home with Aunt Maggie. It sounds like they also had a good time.
We had fun on the Go Karts and playing Glow in the dark 3D Golf.

Since we have moved closer to Aunt Maggie Paul and I can go out on more dates!
Thanks Aunt Maggie for babysitting Melissa.

Friendship Dinner

I'm so behind on the blog, that this post is about two weeks old.

The women's ministry at Prestonwood had a Friendship Dinner on August 5, 2008. Some of the ladies in my bible study class hosted a table. It was a fun night with the ladies. We had a great meal, nice visit and the best part was the special guest they had for us.

Lisa Smith, a young woman with Down syndrome who passionately shares God’s message of hope through the gift of signing. She was amazing!

Featured speaker Thelma Wells, formerly of Women of Faith, spoke about her life trials and blessings, tackling the question: “What do you do when you don’t know what to do?”

Thelma was also amazing, she has been through it all and it gives you hope.

Here are some pictures from that night.

Moved and unpacking

Thursday, July 31, 2008

It's been a week since we started moving. Last Thursday DD came in to help me out while Paul was still out of town. DD helped me out so much. If she wasn't watching Melissa while I packed she was busy helping me pack. We could not have done this move with out DD's help. Thank you DD for all your hard work.

I think we have about 90% of the boxes unpacked. I hope to have them all gone this weekend. Melissa did well during the move, she seems to be happy hear. One good thing about this new apartment is that she has a big room that she can play in. It helps to have all her toys in her room and not all over the living room. Ie like the new apartment it has more room and feels like a little home. One thing I have noticed is we can hear our upstairs neighbors walking, but we can get use to that.

I have some pictures of Melissa , but I haven't found the cord to the camera to download them. Once I do I will share with you.

Moving!

Sunday, July 20, 2008

Have you been wondering where I have been? Since we have been back from vacation, it's been all about the move. We aren't moving to far, just closer to Paul's work. We will be moving into another apartment with a little more room. Paul will have about a 10 minute commute so that will help, since gas cost an arm and leg these days. Last week I didn't get much packed because Melissa came down with a cold/infection and that put a stop to packing. I'm hoping to get a lot pack this week because the move is on Saturday the 26th!

I'll share these pictures with you! Melissa loves her hats and can even say hat and sign it also!

Happy Birthday Traci!

Sunday, June 29, 2008

Since I'm the only one that post on this blog, I thought I would let you know today is my 31st Birthday! Today has been a good day! I made my favorite cake STRAWBERRY! Yes, I made it! Paul has been traveling the last four weeks so I knew he wasn't going to be thinking about a cake for me. This morning I got ready for Church had me a big piece of cake and out the door I went. I heard a good message today at Church, it just helped me get my Birthday off to a good start. When I arrived back home, Paul and Melissa where waiting for me. Melissa had a Happy Birthday balloon and card for me. It was so sweet to she her standing at the door with a big smile on her face. This evening Paul and Melissa took me out to eat at one of our favorite Mexican Food Restaurant Angelina's. It's in The Colony over looking Lake Lewisville.

Last years birthday was a blur, I had just been home from the hospital a week after having Melissa and needed some sleep. That was also the day we found out Melissa had CF. So I really wasn't in the mood to be celebrating.
It has been a good year, but went by to fast.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Our 6th Anniversary and Mother's Day!

May 11, 2008

Happy 6th Anniversary Paul. Today is a double special day. I not only get to hear Happy Anniversary, but I get to hear Happy Mother's Day. I'm very blessed to be married to Paul and also be the mother of Melissa. The only thing wrong with this day is that I'm not with Paul. He didn't make it out to Lubbock on Friday so we're a part for most of the day. Melissa and I are flying home tonight.

6 years ago today was a beautiful day I was on cloud nine knowing I was about to marry my best friend. That still hasn't change. Yes our life has changed since Melissa entered the world, but I still love you Paul.

Last year on Mother's day I was ready to have Melissa. I still had over a month to go, but my legs, feet and hands OK my whole body was swollen. I couldn't walk with out my legs cramping up. I also had my 1st baby shower and that was fun. This year I get to love on my baby girl and I my body isn't swollen. I love being a mother. It is a hard job, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Me Day

Thursday, April 3, 2008

Today I'm having a Me Day! That's right, this morning I'm getting my hair cut, colored and even get my eyebrows waxed. Then this afternoon I'm getting a message. My sister gave me a gift certificate in May 2007. I was supposed to use it after Melissa was born, but forgot about it and was too busy. I'm looking forward to this afternoon!

Hope you have a good day!

Sick

Thursday, March 20, 2008

Melissa and I have been congested since Monday! Paul and I are giving Melissa breathing treatments. Today was the first day. We have to give them to her twice a day.

I went to my doctor today. I just have a stuffy nose, that is caused by our early spring. My allergies are in full force. Please pray that Melissa will heal with out getting to sick. We don't want this go get in her lungs. I'm ready for a full night sleep for both of us. If I'm not up blowing my nose, I'm up with Melissa because she can't breath. Melissa doesn't want Daddy, only Mommy!

Check out my baby doing her breathing treatments. She doesn't like having the mask on her face.
