Welcome Home Paul

Sunday, September 30, 2007

Paul had been out of town for two weeks. Melissa and I missed him so much. Paul missed us also. The first week my mom came to stay with Melissa and I that was a big help. The second week it was just Melissa and I together 24/7. We did fine, but I sure did miss having help at night, giving me a break. I took some picture of Paul and Melissa this weekend. I could tell she was happy to have him around.

Hello

I thought this picture was cute of Melissa. She is doing so good with lifting her head up!

Melissa rolled over for the first time!

Melissa rolled over for the first time today! I had her sleeping on her tummy and heard her making noises so I went to check on her and she was trying to roll over. I ran to get the video camera and caught it.

Melissa 3 Months Old!

Monday, September 17, 2007

Our baby girl is 3 months old today! Where has the time gone? Here is what has happen over the last month. Melissa was weighing over 12 pounds two weeks ago, she is laughing, smiling and talking(cooing) more! Melissa has gotten her a routine down. She wakes up around 8:00am and goes down for her morning nap around 10:00am, wakes up to eat and then goes down for long afternoon nap around 1:30. Then at night we go for a walk about 6:45-7:00 and bath time around 7:15-7:30 and then time to eat and go to bed around 8:15. She is sleeping almost all night long. She wakes up only once around 4:30am-5:00am to eat and then go back to sleep. She is taking about 5 oz of milk and is trying to go 3 hours with out wanting to eat.

Melissa Baby Dedication

Sunday, September 16, 2007

Today we had Melissa dedicated to the church.

A baby dedication is made of several imprtant ingredients. First is the recognition that the child you hold is not yours, but God's. God is the author of life. Your baby is not an accident, mistake or even the outcome of your choice. The baby you hold today is a miracle of God's creative power. This life, with all of its uniqueness and potential, is a gift God has given you.

Our First Cystic Fibrois Walk

Saturday, September 15, 2007

Today was a very important day for us, we did our first Cystic Fibrosis Walk for Melissa. We had a small team, but we thank those that came out to walk with Melissa. We also would like to thank every one who donated money to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. We raised over $2000.00, not bad for our first time. We hope you will help us out until we find a cure.

Melissa is a blessing from heaven and Paul and I are so blessed to have her as our daughter. She brings joy and happiness to our hearts. We know that there is going to be ups and downs, but we have family, friends and even strangers praying for Melissa and us.

Here are two videos of the walk!

Is that me in the mirror? I love looking at myself in the mirror!

What Melissa sleeping on her tummy?

Yes, I thought I would try and put Melissa on her tummy during nap time and she is sleeping so much better. Daddy isn't ready for me to try this at night. During the day is OK because I can go in and check on her. I'm ready to try it at night so I can get a full nights sleep. Melissa will sleep on her side, but once she gets on her back she wakes up. If I could only get her to fall back to sleep on her own. Maybe I'm asking to much for a soon to be 3 month old.

Melissa sitting in her Bumbo chair

I wanted to see if Melissa was ready to sit in her bumbo chair and she is for the most part. Her head is still a little weak, but give her a couple more weeks and she will be sitting up like a big girl.

Melissa waking up in the mornings

This is what Paul and I get to wake up too in the mornings! We love Melissa's smile.

Good morning mom!

Melissa's check up at the CF Clinic

Tuesday, September 4, 2007

Melissa had her check up at the CF clinic today. The doctors are very impressed with Melissa weight and how well she is doing. Melissa has been having some stomach trouble so they want her to take 2 capsule of enzymes with every feeding instead of one. She is growing up and needs more enzymes. I'm hoping this will help with her stomach problems! Melissa is weighing over 12 pounds.

Melissa's lungs sounded good! Praise the Lord!

We're going to start keeping her more at home since the cold and flu season is starting up. They want Paul and I to get a flu shot and anyone else that is going to be babysitting for us or staying with us. We just need to continue to pray that Melissa's makes it through the cold and flu season with out getting the flu and to many colds. The cold season with last through April.

We will keep you posted on how she is doing. No more doctors visits until October when she has her 4 month check up and more shots! The next CF visit is in November.
