Christmas at the Gaylord Texan Hotel

On Friday, November 28th we thought we would go and check out the Gaylord Texan Hotel. I have heard it was a nice place with Christmas decorations. Since DD was here visiting us I thought this would be a good time to go and check it out. We didn't get up at 4am for Christmas Shopping!
While we where there we saw a 50-foot rotating Christmas tree, ; magical train sets winding through 1,000 feet of track; a life-size gingerbread house made from 5,000 square feet of gingerbread. Melissa was having a blast. She didn't want to stop and take family pictures. I thought this would be a great place for us to take our family picture for our Christmas cards.
All she wanted to do was be left alone and not told what to do. If you are in the Dallas area you should check it out. http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylord-texan/special-events/grapevine-dallas-events/lone-star-christmas/index.html
When Melissa gets older there are more things for her to do.

Our Thanksgiving

Sunday, November 30, 2008

I know it's late, but we have been busy! Melissa, Paul and I had a great Thanksgiving. The night before my mom (DD) came to visit us for Thanksgiving. As we drove to the airport to pick her up we kept telling Melissa that DD was coming to see her. She would get so excited. When we got to the airport and found DD waiting on us outside, I told Melissa I see DD. She was saying DD over and over. When DD opened the door Melissa had a big smile on her face. It's so amazing how she can remember people already!
Thanksgiving day was nice. That morning we had breakfast and then we decorated our Christmas Tree. Oh Melissa loved every minute of it. I think she likes the lights more than the tree. She is really doing well with the tree. She will go up to it and kiss it. It's is so cute to watch her do that.

After lunch and Melissa's nap we headed over to Paul's sister and brother in-laws for Thanksgiving Dinner. Oh it was good and this was Melissa real Thanksgiving dinner. Last year she was just eating baby food. She didn't eat much this year, but she did eat the cranberry sauce. She thought it was Jello or ello as Melissa calls it.

We have so much to be Thankful for this year! Paul has a new job, having great family and Friends and Melissa is doing so well. I try not to think about the what if's, but I'm just blessed that we get to have her in our life. She is the joy of my life and everyday I spend with her my love for her grows. We just thank God that she hasn't had any set backs with her CF.

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving!

I just want to touch it OK!

Makes you feel good!

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Today myself and another lady from our bible study classes delivered a complete Thanksgiving meal and a $75.00 Wal-mart gift card to a very special family. Our Bible Study class thought it would be nice for us to adopt a family from our church who needed some help during the Holiday Season. Our Class was matched up with a Family of 5 who is going through a hard time and didn't know how they would even feed their kids on Thanksgiving day. If you have ever been in this situation then you know how they feel.

When we dropped off the meal we thought we would just say hello and make small talk with the family, but God had a different plan for us. We ended up staying over an hour getting to know this family. This is what the Holiday season is a all about giving back to those in need

Tree Lighting Extravaganza

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I have been trying to attach the onetruemedia video, but it won't let me.

Tonight our Church (Prestonwood Baptist) kicked off the Christmas season with a Tree Lighting Extravaganza. The 300+ Children's Choir preformed all the songs. The kids did a great job!
The weather was perfect it was a little cold so we needed the coats.

When we pulled in to the Church parking lot Melissa could see the BIG Christmas Tree and started getting excited. Once the music started she was having a blast. She would cry when the music and singing would stop. Melissa didn't like it when the kids would start telling a story, she wanted music. I'm so blessed that the weather was nice and that we could take Melissa to this. This is just another family traditions and memories we to share with her.

Some new pictures of my silly girl

Saturday, November 22, 2008
I thought I would post some of these new pictures of Melissa. I have been dealing with stress over Melissa throwing her food onto the floor, walls and any place it will stick. So the first picture is of Melissa being messy. Yes, at 17 months she is still messy. She was eating refried black beans and cheese quesadillas. How can you get mad at this face! The other pictures are her being silly or just because I think she is cute.

What I didn't do it!

I love laying on the kitchen floor!

Play Date with a new friend

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Today I took Melissa over to meet Caleb. I met Caleb's Mommy at church and found out we live about 10 minutes away from each other. Caleb and Melissa are 3 months a part. Melissa had a blast playing with Caleb and his toys. For the most part they did well, but we had those moments when they would fight over that one toy! The kids had a little snack and ate it at Caleb's table. Melissa thought this was so neat. I think we might have to get her a table and chairs. Caleb's mom and I also enjoyed our talk and getting to know each other better. Looking forward to more play dates with Caleb.

Not much going on with us

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

First of all I want to say Thank You to our Veterans that have served our country.

Well not much has been going on in our world. I don't even have a picture to post. I just thought I would let you know we are doing good. I have been busy getting our office stuff organized. Since we have moved I haven't been doing a very good job at keeping the desk clean and paper free. For those who know me well, you know I'm not an organized person at all. You should have seen my desk when I worked. It was always a mess, but I could find anything you needed. My bosses would always get on to me for having a messy desk. I just can't help it.

I looking forward to Thanksgiving that is coming up in two weeks. We are staying home for Thanksgiving. So we will be spending time with our family here in the DFW Area. My mom is flying in to spend Thanksgiving with us. She doesn't know it but, her and Paul will be helping me decorate for Christmas!

Trick or Treat

Saturday, November 1, 2008
Yesterday was Halloween and our little girl was a ladybug. We took her to our Church Fall Festival last night and she had a blast. She is still to little for most of the games and rides. Melissa's favorite thing was riding the pony. Oh she loved every minute of that. She had a fit when she had to get off. Then we took her over to the petting area and well she was happy again. She was loving the bunny rabbit that was all by itself. Melissa also played tick tack toe with bean bags . Even though she didn't know what tick tack toe was she thought it was fun to throw the bags into the slots. Paul and I had to take turns helping our Bible Study class run the Texas Train. Melissa was to young to ride by herself and we couldn't get on it with her. Our friends daughter road with her and she like it.
Melissa's friend Kelsey was also there and she was dressed up as a bumble bee. She was so cute. I was able to get one picture of them together.
