Mom what is this thing? It's not my bottle. What am I supposed to do with it?
My mom thinks its time for me to start trying new things. She gave me this cup and I'm not sure what to do with it. I like chewing on it! I know something is in there, but I can't figure out how to get it out.
What is this thing?

Going away Party!
Saturday, January 26, 2007
Last night we went to a going away party for our friends Chad and Amy! They are in our Bible Study class @ Prestonwood. Chad and Amy are moving to Paris France to become missionaries. We had a good time visiting with them and our other friends from church. We are going to miss Chad and Amy so much, but we have there blog so we can keep up with them.
Chad and Amy thanks for your friendship and we know it will continue to grow even if you are 9 hours away from us!

Melissa is getting faster at crawling
The other day I was in the kitchen and didn't hear Melissa playing with her toys in the living room. So I looked over the counter and saw her heading down the hallway. This is the first time she has done that. She also thinks it's fun to crawl under our footstool. Here is a video and some pictures of her.
My Uncle Dan
Thursday, January 24, 2008
My Uncle Dan came to see me today! I haven't seen him since September. He was in town for work and had dinner with us on Thursday. I enjoyed playing with him, he is so funny! He looks like my dad in some ways. Thanks Uncle Dan for coming to visit with me. I can't wait to come and see you and my cousins in April!
Melissa loves dogs!
Last Saturday, we all went over to our friends Ken and Shari. They have four dogs and Melissa loved them. We didn't let her play with them, but. I have attached a video of her laughing.
Powerful Blog
I have been reading this blog that a friend sent me, and another friend has it on her blog. W hen reading this I can't help wonder what Melissa's life is going to be when she is older. As you know our daughter Melissa has CF (Cystic Fibrosis). Well here is real life family dealing with CF. Please pray for this family.

Melissa 7 months old
Thursday, January 17, 2008
Today Melissa turned 7 months old. As I say every month time is flying by. She is really getting her personality! I know she is going to be a talker, because she wakes up babbling and goes to sleep babbling. I wouldn't want it any other way. Paul is really starting to enjoy her more. Not that he has enjoyed her before, but this stage is fun for him. It is so sweet to watch her face when he comes home from work. I can hear him at the door and I will say to her " Where's daddy" and she will look at the door and start screaming. She loves her daddy!
Melissa is getting the crawling down. She is making her way to the table so I know we need to finish baby proofing soon. Let's talk about food, she loves her solid food and doesn't want her bottle any more. We are still feeding her 4 bottles a day. She needs to get at least 24oz of formal in a day. Melissa loves eating banana's, pears, peaches, sweet potatoes, squash, and oatmeal. We are so proud that Melissa is doing well with her CF. We get to start traveling in April so we are going to be busy this spring and summer taking some family trips.
She still has no teeth yet, but I know it can take forever with some babies. Her friend Mia who is 5 months old already has two teeth. Melissa's bottom gums are swollen, but no sign of a tooth yet.
Here are some pictures of our 7month old!

Hats
We have been going for walks since last week and I took pictures of Melissa in her hats. I think she looks good in hats!
I Love Bath Time!
As you can see from the pictures and video I love taking my bath. I have really enjoyed taking a bath even more than before. Since I got my bath seat and all the toys, it's so much fun. I can't wait until I can sit up on my own and even swim around in the bath tub.
Update on Melissa's CF appoitment
Tuesday, January 8, 2008
Today Melissa had her check up at the CF Clinic. Melissa is doing great! The staff is proud of her weight 18lbs. Melissa had x-rays done on her chest and nothing bad to report. Her lungs are clear! Dr. Brown had us meet with the respiratory therapist today, he wants us to have on hand a breathing machine for breathing treatments if and when we need them. If Melissa comes down with a cold/congestion, we will be prepared. The cold/flu season will last around the end of March so we still have to be careful of where we go and who we are around. Thanks for your prayers and support. Keep praying that Melissa stays healthy and continues to grow.
Melissa trying to crawl and talking baby talk
Monday night, January 7, 2008
Last night Melissa was trying to crawl. She wanted the pillows that are protecting her from the bricks on the fire place. She was scooting, pushing with her legs to get the pillows. I was able to get it on video. You tell us is she crawling? If not its just a matter of time!
Melissa is also a talker. She wakes up talking and falls asleep talking. I wonder where she gets that from? If you know me, then you know the answer. Melissa and I had a nice conversationlast at the table.
Only in Texas!
Monday, January 7, 2008
Well today's high is 79, yes it's January and we are having spring/summer weather. I'm happy it's warmer because Melissa and I can get outside and not be stuck in this apartment. I'm really looking forward to spring so we can get back to walking and going to the park. Melissa loves to be outside. Not much is going on with us, just trying to keep us all healthy. I took Melissa today for her third dose of Synagis shots. Poor baby she is always getting shots. Only three more months of these shots to go. They told me today that RSV is in full force. Melissa has her appointment tomorrow at the CF Clinic. I'll update the blog tomorrow.
Another Christmas Gathering with Cousins
On Saturday, December 28, 2007 we meet up with my side of the family. This was a special day for me because Melissa got to meet new cousins and also she is a 4th generation cousins. It's to hard for me to explain. Paul thinks it's neat that I'm so close to my cousins and we are in the 4th genartion. Not to many people can say they know there 2nd, 2rd or even 4th cousins. It's fun to watch our family grow like it has.
