First Day of Fall

Monday, September 22, 2008

Today is the first day of fall here in the United States. The last two weeks have felt like fall, but not this week. The high this week is in the 90's! I love this time of the year. I'm a fan of the warm weather, not the cold but I do welcome the change in the weather. I'm looking forward to pumpkin patches, fall festivals, Thanksgiving and even Christmas. Oh Christmas will be fun this year at our house with Melissa. I won't talk about Christmas yet. Specking of Fall Festivals, I found Melissa's costume. She is going to be a Lady Bug. I bought it used for $9.00. You can't beat that. You will have to wait until October 31st for pictures.

Lil' Chris is going to be a Kangaroo. We thought it would be a cute idea since I am pregnant. That way we will both have a lil' pouch=)

Thank you for not mentioning Christmas yet. I was in Walgreens THREE weeks ago (early September) returning a redbox movie rental and the manager asked if he could help me. I was standing in the middle of the aisle looking at the top of the shelves with my mouth hanging WIDE open because there were 1000s of boxes of Christmas lights that weren't there the day before when I picked up my redbox movie.

I told him that I couldn't believe there were Christmas lights out in plain sight already...it's only Labor Day! He laughed and asked if he could get some down for me and I said, "NO way!"

Anyway, I hear you about heat...Walt and I planned to go hiking the first Saturday after fall hit and the forecast was 99 and we were going to go...now it's up to 104 for Saturday so we'll wait a week or two.

Can't wait to see Melissa's costume pics!!
