Melissa had her 1 year check up today. She had to get 3 shots today! She did well with them! Melissa is weighing in at 23lbs 3oz (75-90%), she is 29 1/4 inches (75-90%). The Doctor said she is as tall as a 14 month old!
Melissa has 5 teeth, walking, saying 4 words and is drinking from a sippy cup. So you would think this was great right? Well her doctor wants her to be saying around 7 words, drink from a regular cup, learn to feed herself with spoon/fork and walk backwards by 15 months. OK Melissa just turned one! What happen to just enjoying your child.
We do read to Melissa every day and try to get her to say words. Getting her to drink from a regular cup is going to messy along with having her feed herself. One thing at a time. I'll let you know how it is going in the next three months!

REALLY?? WOW, Talon didn't drink from a regular cup till he was like 2 1/5, and while he was a little slow at words (five at age two)....that seems like the doc is asking a lot of melissa. Don't stress if she's not doing all that, I don't know many kids that are drinking from a cup at 15 mo.
