Eating

Here is a pictures of Melissa eating banana's. She will attack you if she sees you eating a banana.

Also we tried giving her spaghetti and it's didn't go that well. When we gave her a bath spaghetti was all in her hair, eyebrows and nose.

Our New Pet!

Paul found a new pet for Melissa! It's not a Dog or a Cat, it's an armadillo. This armadillo was out roaming around our apartment complex so Paul just had to go check it out. Do you think it will make a good pet? Just kidding! I thought this post would get your attention.

Living with Cystic Fibrosis

I have been following a couple who is dealing with Cystic Fibrosis. As you know Melissa has CF and I want to know more about it and how it effects those who live with it. Please take the time to watch this video of this couple. There local TV Station did a segment on them. It's very touching.

Tooth # 2

Monday, March 24, 2008

Melissa's 2nd tooth came in today, or that's when daddy saw it. We knew it was getting close because she has been very cranky the last week. So she has two teeth on the bottom. I hear the top two teeth are the worst. Great, teething is hard on Melissa.

Easter Weekend

What a great weekend we had. First, my mom came into town on Thursday. She only came to see Melissa! DD hasn't seen Melissa in over a month and just had to be here for her 1st Easter.

Friday night we went out to eat to celebrate Paul's new Job. We met up with our cousin Jana. Melissa loves going out to a restaurant. This is our 2nd time to take her since we stop taking her place in September. So I didn't know what she would do, but she is good.

Saturday we took Melissa to her 1st Easter Egg hunt that our Church sponsored. Well Melissa didn't know what to do with the eggs. She was to busy watching everyone else picking up eggs. Next year will be a different story. She will be running around looking for eggs. Our friends met up with us so we had to get the girls pictures.

Melissa also opened up her Easter gifts. It was all most like Christmas. She got two new Elmo videos, a new cell phone, a lamb that plays "Jesus loves me" and her cool Easter basket.

Sunday we said goodbye to DD and then went to Paul's sisters for Easter Lunch.

Hope you had a Great Easter!

Sick

Thursday, March 20, 2008

Melissa and I have been congested since Monday! Paul and I are giving Melissa breathing treatments. Today was the first day. We have to give them to her twice a day.

I went to my doctor today. I just have a stuffy nose, that is caused by our early spring. My allergies are in full force. Please pray that Melissa will heal with out getting to sick. We don't want this go get in her lungs. I'm ready for a full night sleep for both of us. If I'm not up blowing my nose, I'm up with Melissa because she can't breath. Melissa doesn't want Daddy, only Mommy!

Check out my baby doing her breathing treatments. She doesn't like having the mask on her face.

Paul got a call this morning with a job offer. It's with Fluor Corporation in Irving Texas. Paul and I want to thank you for your prayers, thoughts and support. It hasn't been easy the last 6 weeks but we could not have done it with out you and God! Paul's start date is around the beginning of April. We will keep you posted.

Thanks,
Paul and Traci

Happy 9 Months Melissa

Monday, March 17, 2008

Today Melissa turned 9 months old. She has been a busy little girl. I didn't know how much fun this age would be, but it's just keeping getting better and better. Melissa can pull herself up really well and walk from one end of the couch to the other with out even thinking twice about it. She loves standing up in her bed. We had to lower her bed to the lowest level and I still don't think that is low enough. She is eating more thicker foods stage 3 foods. She loves real bananas, not the baby food ones. She also likes the Gerber puffs. At first she didn't know what to think of them, but she can eat them up fast.
Melissa had her 9 month check up today and here are the measurements. Weight 21lbs 3oz (90%), Height 28 1/2 inches (75%) and Head 44cm (50%)

She did wake up this in the middle of the night with fever and congestion. At her appointment she didn't have any fever, that a good thing.

We took Melissa to have her 9 months pictures made. The pink dress is her Easter dress.

What a weekend Part #2

Sunday, March 16, 2008

Happy Birthday to Kaelyn. Melissa's friend Kaelyn turned 1 today. We went to the party and had a great time. Melissa enjoyed watching Kaelyn open up her presents. She was trying to eat all the paper. Kaelyn's mom and I are looking forward to the girls playing together. Once Melissa starts walking I think they will be good friends.

Sunday night we met up with family. We have some cousins in town who wanted to see Melissa. She is the center of attention when it comes to my family. Melissa is the youngest!

What a weekend!

It started out to be a busy weekend for us. We took Melissa out to eat with our Bible Study class on Friday night and she had a blast. It was so nice outside that we ate outside, and Melissa loved that. She also enjoyed all the attention for our friends.

Saturday started out bad! Our upstairs neighbors bathroom overflowed. It ended up in our bedroom! So we had to have the carpet pulled up. So that meant moving things out of our room. That afternoon got better for us. We visited with our friends Berry, Kimber and Kelsey. We meet up with them at outside Mall by there house. Here are some pictures of the girls with their dad's. We are looking forward to day the girls can play together. Kelsey is 4 months younger than Melissa.

Play Date

Thursday, March 13, 2008

Today I went to play with my friend Kaelyn. We had a good time. At first Kaelyn didn't know what to think of me. I started crawling over to her and she was crying. I didn't know what I did to her. I just wanted to play. Her mom said it takes her awhile to get use to people being around. She isn't like me and will just talk to anyone that will give me the time of day. I can't wait till I can walk and keep up with Kaelyn. I think then we will play better.
Kaeyln had a neat toy, it's a cow that rocks. I had fun on it!

My new towel

Mom bought me this new towel because I have out grown all the little baby towels. She thought I needed to have my picture taken after my bath. I have also found out that its fun to splash the water. The water gets all over my face and the floor, I love it!

Melissa's CF Appointment

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Today Melissa had her CF appointment and she is doing well. Once again her doctors and CF staff are pleased that she is gaining weight and her lungs are still clear! That's a HUGE blessing. The CF staff loves Melissa and always looks forward to seeing her. Her nurse's are the biggest fans. They have watched her grow up. Melissa was only 2 weeks old when she met them. The next visit is on June 10th. She will be almost a year old.

Here are some pictures I took today of Melissa and the CF Staff at Children's Hospital of Dallas.

A few quick things to consider:

CF is the most common, fatal, genetically-inherited disease among children and young adults in the US.> About 30,000 people in the US have CF.

The average life expectancy of a CFer born today is about 37 years. Although, many still never make it past infancy, and some will live well beyond 37.

An additional ten million more people (about one in every 31 Americans) are carriers of the defective CF gene, but do not have the disease. There is no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, but there will be one day

Job Update #5

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Well Paul heard back from AT&T and they are on a hiring freeze. So that means back to square one. Paul does have another interview on Thursday @ 1:30 with another company. Keep praying for us.

Let it snow, Let it snow!

Thursday, March 6, 2008

I know that's a Christmas song, but we have had snow twice this week. The first time came at night so we didn't get any pictures. Today was a different story. It started out raining and then here came the snow. We didn't get a lot in our area, but we have some friends that got at least 4 inches. Paul and I took Melissa out in the snow for a few minutes just to get pictures. Oh yesterdays high was 68 and today's high 31. Only in Texas!

Job Update #4

Keep praying, Paul didn't get the job he interviewed for last week. He should here something back from AT&T by next week. Paul does have his resume out there.

It's Been A Month

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

It's been a month since Paul lost his job. So much has been going on this month. Paul has had 4 interviews, has been spending lots of time with Melissa and I. Our walk with the Lord has gotten even stronger. We feel in our hearts that God has something great for Paul and we just have to keep trusting him. We thank all of you for your prayers and kind words.

We were blessed this weekend with a big surprise from our Bible study class from Church. I'm not going into any details, but it was a true blessing. We thank those who where a part of it. You put a BIG smile on our faces along with some tears.

We will keep you posted on the job hunt. Please continue to pray for us.

What I have been up to!

Since I turned 8 months old, I have been busy! I found out that the kitchen is a fun place, and the bathroom. My mom and dad don't think it's fun for me to be in either place. I'm having fun pulling myself up! See me standing up in my bed. I also can hold my own bottle not for a long time, but for a while.
